Start controling your home

Who doesn't dream of controlling everything in and outside the home by just pressing a key on your remote control? Domotics makes this possible, but professional systems are expensive and sometimes require new wirering. I am trying to design an affordable system that uses existing wirering. I will also publish some other projects that I am/was busy with using different kinds of microcontrollers, each with its own link on the left side.

Things you can find here are:

Dear visitor:

This website is running on a very small computer. The advantage is low power consumption, but the disadvantage is low processing power. My focus about home automation has shifted in recent years and my main purpose now of my NLSU2 is to serve files to my network (NAS) and media player. Therefore I will not be running the MySQL database and some other programs, but I will leave the links for whoever wants to experiment with them.

Global warming

Global warming (or Climate Change) is a hot topic at this moment, but is it bad or good? My persional opinion is that it is good for mankind (but not for the polar bears)

Things I am busy with at the moment:

• Getting this website up and running again after a harddrive crash.
• Writing some articles about professional home automation hardware and software (HomeLogic and AMX). Done.
• Making a printed circuit board for the AVR dimmer. Done. Read the article to make your own circuit board
• Giving the 80C552 MPU board 128kB FLASH to store different programs. It has now 32kB RAM memory which loses the progam after a power reset.Done I will change this board for an ATMega128 soon.
• Getting the i2c driver running on my Linux "Slug", so that I can put my temperature sensors and power meter back online. Dont need it any more I used a SerialUSB interface instead.
• Writing some articles on how to install Count and Webalizer on the Slug. Done.
• Making an SPI programmer for the AVR chip and trying out the software. Done. Programmer works.
• Redesigning the dimmer with a more powerful AVR processor without a transformer. Work done.
• Making a smaller 4 channel dimmer that fits in a junction box.
• Making the dimmer Wireless with an iDwaRF module.
• Try to make the dimmer DMX 512 compatible Done including extra features.
• Trying out how to use MySQL. Done.
• Trying out how to use the Geolizer patch for Webalizer. Can't get it to compile on NLSU2, sorry.
• Making the dimmer Wireless with an iDwaRF module.
